Changing Mail Server Settings

We’ve been moving customers to our new hosting server, which has required some people to change their mail server settings. If you have been moved to the new server and need to update your server settings, follow the instructions below for Outlook, Mac Mail, and iPhones. If you have an Android phone, instructions will vary, depending on what mail program you use. Contact Kelley if you need assistance.

For Outlook 2016 and later:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Go to the File tab, then go to Account Settings > Account Settings.
  3. On the Email tab, select your email account, and then click Repair.
  4. Click Advanced Options, then check Let me repair my account manually.
    *** If you don’t see the words “Advanced Options”, you are likely running an older version of Outlook. See instructions below for Outlook 2013. ***
  5. Click the Repair button.
  6. Update your Incoming mail settings.
  7. In the Server field, change the server from ws1.kncihosting.com to ws2.kncihosting.com.
  8. Change the port number and SSL options if needed.
    • If the window says POP Account Settings at the top, set the port number to 995. Select the checkbox “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS)”.
    • If the window says IMAP Account Settings at the top, set the port number to 993. In the Encryption method drop down box, select “SSL/TLS”.
  9. Click Outgoing mail to update your Outgoing mail settings.
  10. Change the port number and SSL options if needed.
    • Set the port number to 465.
    • In the Encryption method drop down box, select “SSL/TLS”.
  11. The checkbox “My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication” should be checked, and the option “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” should be selected.
  12. Click Next, and then click Done.
  13. If you do not see new mail coming in, reboot your computer.

For Outlook 2013:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Go to the File tab, then go to Account Settings > Account Settings.
  3. On the Email tab, select your email account, and then click Repair.
  4. Select “Manual setup or additional server types” and then click Next.
  5. Under Server Information, change both server names to ws2.kncihosting.com.
  6. Click More Settings in the bottom right.
  7. On the Advanced tab, change the Incoming port to 995 (POP3) or 993 (IMAP).
  8. Check the box that says “This server requires an encrypted connection”.
  9. Change the Outgoing port to 465.
  10. From the “Use the following type of encrypted connection” drop-down, select “SSL/TLS”.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click Next.
  13. Click Close to close the test window.
  14. Click Finish.
  15. If you do not see new mail coming in, reboot your computer.

For Mac Mail:

  1. In Mac Mail, go to Mail Preferences.
  2. Click Accounts.
  3. In the left column, select the email account you want to modify.
  4. Click Server Settings.
  5. Under Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), change the host name from ws1.kncihosting.com to ws2.kncihosting.com.
  6. You should be able to leave the option “Automatically manage connection settings” enabled. If you want to manually verify your connection settings, uncheck this box and confirm the settings match the ones listed below.
    • The incoming mail server port should be 993 for IMAP accounts (or 995 for POP accounts).
    • The outgoing mail server port should be 465 for both.
    • Use SSL/TLS should be checked for both incoming and outgoing mail servers.
    • The Authentication drop-down should be set to Password for both incoming and outgoing mail servers.
  7. Click Save.
  8. If you do not see new mail coming in, reboot your computer.

For iPhones and iPads:

  1. On your iPhone, click the Settings icon.
  2. Open your mail server settings. The location varies depending on your version of iOS:
    • For iOS 12 and later, select Passwords & Accounts.
    • For iOS 11 and earlier, select Mail, then Accounts.
  3. Select the email account you want to modify.
  4. Tap the email address.
  5. Under Incoming Mail Server, change the host name from ws1.kncihosting.com to ws2.kncihosting.com.
  6. Under Outgoing Mail Server, tap ws1.kncihosting.com.
  7. Tap ws1.kcnihosting.com.
  8. Change the host name from ws1.kncihosting.com to ws2.kncihosting.com.
  9. Confirm that Use SSL is enabled.
  10. Confirm that Authentication is set to Password.
  11. Confirm that Server Port is 465.
  12. Click Done.
  13. Click Account in the top left to go back to your account settings.
  14. Click Done.
  15. If you do not see new mail coming in, reboot your device.
